===== An Update Regarding Rewards System Clarity =====
Please note: **For whatever reason, exqlorer.com is INCORRECT** with its display of the reward structure. **The rewards above the level 5+6 tier there are WHOLLY INCORRECT**. The information below shows the **TRUE REWARD STRUCTURE that is CURRENTLY ACTIVE, and HOW IT WILL CHANGE OVER TIME.** 

=== Current ACTUAL payout structure (as of July 22 2025): ===

This payout structure **will remain this way until there are ANY active minters in the highest tier (level 9-10)**. Once that happens, and until there are 30 ACTIVE at any given moment, THAT is the only time the payout structure (very temporarily) could potentially look like what is currently displayed on exqlorer... (meaning, once there HAVE BEEN any number of active minters in the 9-10 tier, but there are not currently 30+ active, THAT is when it could potentially be the case that the tier below it, along with the minters from the tier above, could obtain the rewards from both tiers. But then, and ONLY THEN, is when that can take place.)

**THE ABOVE SITUATION ONLY HAPPENS AFTER ACTIVE MINTERS HAVE EXISTED IN THE HIGHEST TIER. BEFORE THE HIGHEST TIER HAS EVER HAD MINTERS, THOSE REWARDS ARE SPLIT BETWEEN MINTER AND DEV ADMINS 50/50.** 

See below for details:

__level 1+2 (tier 1)__ = **6%**

__level 3+4 (tier 2)__ = **13%**

__level 5+6 (tier 3)__ = **19%**

__level 7+8 (tier 4)__ = **26%**

<del>level 9+10</del> (CURRENTLY INACTIVE) (tier 5) = (does not yet have 30 ACTIVE minters, and has NEVER had minters, therefore rewards go to **MinterAmins and DevAdmins** split 50/50) = **32%** (which means 16% MinterAdmins 16% DevAdmins)

MinterAdmin+DevAdmin Base Percentage = **3%** (1.5% MinterAdmins + 1.5% DevAdmins)
(Total Currently going to MinterAdmins + DevAdmins = 32+3 = 35% (17.5% MinterAdmins 17.5% DevAdmins))

__Total Currently going to QORA BURN__ = **1%**

Once the level 9+10 tier has minters, the rewards THEN go to the tier below AND the higher tier (minters+rewards), until there are 30+ ACTIVE in the 9-10 tier, once THAT happens, the 9-10 tier gets their 32% by themselves. If at any point the number of ACTIVE minters in the highest tier drops below 30, the rewards (and the minters) drop down to the tier below them. 

====Removal of 'Founder' Rewards====
The leveling system remains the same, however there is **NO MORE FOUNDER TIER**. The rewards that were previously given to the founder tier, **are now given to the Dev Admins, and Minter Admins**. 

Dev Admins and Minter admins share the previous founder rewards tier 50/50 split. 

==== Original Minting Information ====
In Qortal, there is a system of 'levels' that are given to those who choose to become a minter.

At first, the minter account type is the only type that can obtain and gain in levels. This means that the  minters are the only ones who can vote for changes in the system, create committees, and any of the other aspects that are relevant to the leveling system. 

At a later date, leveling will apply to other Qortal account types (see [[Account Types]]) giving multiple different types the ability to 'level up' in the system, and gain more voting influence, form committees, etc.

As the entire design of the minting system suggests, the importance for the minter in Qortal, is that of SUPPORTING THE BLOCKCHAIN BY RUNNING A MINTING NODE. As a minting node is very important for the overall health of any blockchain, we have decided to delegate that importance by enforcing the minters being online and synced as the main contributing factor. As such, since we realize this importance, being ONLINE is tracked by the Qortal Core, and every 'online block' for every minter, is cemented into the blockchain. It is impossible to 'trick the core' into thinking you are online when you are not, as every node that has a minting key assigned to it, must 'verify' itself every block, by performing a special signature tied with a timestamp, and submitted within a given timeframe (5 minutes). 

As a minter, you will '**level up**' as you continue to prove yourself a supporting node on the network, and increase the count of your 'online blocks' therein. Leveling up gives you many advantages...

- You can vote with more influence when you are higher level.

- You will earn more in terms of rewards as you level up.
\\
- You can begin to 'sponsor' the creation of other minters, once reaching Level 5.

- More advantages will come as the Qortal System continues to evolve and change and new versions are released.

Minters CAN assign their minting key to MULTIPLE NODES. The same key can be used on multiple nodes, to provide 'redundancy' for the minter of the assigned key.

**Please note:** there is no benefit to running more than one node other than redundancy for the minter. Meaning you will not earn additional block reward for running more than one node - but this can be a great way to ensure your minting account is minting as many blocks as possible on the network.

Increase in level happens solely by continuing to prove yourself a full node that is synced, and being assigned to a given minting key. As you do this, you will increase in level.

The following shows the amount of blocks needed FROM ONE LEVEL TO THE NEXT. These are NOT CUMULATIVE and must be accomplished EACH LEVEL (starting back at 0 upon level increase taking place):

From level 0 to 1: **‭7,200‬‬ blocks**

From level 2 to 3: **129,600 blocks**

From level 3 to 4: **172,800 blocks**

From level 4 to 5: **244,000 blocks** (approximately 14 mo. from Level 1)
