QORTector Device Versions

QORTector Gen 1, 2 and 3 - with more to come! All of these boards are open source and we have created custom software for these to operate as full nodes on the Qortal Network. These kernel versions are named Brooklyn after the great Brooklyn horsey seen above! You can either build a device yourself or purchase via our third party supplier: Crowetic Hardware Development LLC (coming soon).

PLEASE NOTE: Gen 1 and other devices have been discontinued momentarily excluding Gen 2. The Gen 1 which is the Orange Pi Prime H5 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. You can purchase a pre-configured device from http://crowetic.com/ or build your own as everything is open source! Go to Raspberry Pi 4 QORTector Gen 2 to build your own!

Device Feature Comparison

Gen 1:

Router with Hostapd WiFi access point. One Command Connect (VPN server or client gateway). Bind9 (personal open-source DNS client). Pi-hole DNS server and ad blocker (https://pi-hole.net/). Tor Router with Socks5 Proxy (allows you to tunnel blockchain and browsing traffic for your LAN or CoinD; the best practice today for complete anonymity). Web server and UI for personally hosting websites with Apache + PhP + mySQL. FTP/SCP local server. Mumble VoIP Server encrypted communications with Push-To-Talk and app support. MiniDLNA server software to be fully compliant with DLNA/UPnP clients (example clients include totem and xbmx or devices such as media players, smartphones and TV’s). Nextcloud for local secure file storage with automated sync, backup and more. OnDemand CoinD (personal wallet for assets and secure trading). Could act as a BTC full node (with additional storage add-on or any external USB storage). OpenHAB for smart home suite (https://openhab.org/). UrBackup similar to Apple’s Time Capsule (https://urbackup.org/). Office Suite server for OpenOffice. Gaming/Minecraft Server. Can support nearly any type of software add-on. Military-Grade Security Protection.

Gen 2, 3, and 4:

Designed to be full nodes without the plethora of features the Gen 1 provides. All devices provide an average 5w power consumption. HTTP/S and SOCKS4/5 (censorship bypass). Military-Grade Security Protection.

QORTector Gen 2 Raspberry Pi 4 A64 64-bit Series: 1.2 GHz Quad-Core

The Gen 2 is a special purpose image for Raspberry Pi 4 Rev 1.1 and above that utilizes advanced crypto and server grade functions to facilitate minting and full featured accelerated desktop. Gen 2 has proven itself as a full replacement of standard x86 daily driver desktops at the expense of a fraction of power and resource utilization. All variants above Rev 1.1 for Pi4 up to 8GB RAM are supported out of the box.
CPU: ARM Cortex-A53 Quad-Core (r0p4, revidr=0x80)
512KiB L2-Cache
32KiB (Instruction) / 32KiB (Data) L1-Cache per Core
SIMD NEON (including double-precision floating point), VFP4
Cryptography Extension (SHA and AES instructions)
DDR2/DDR3/DDR3L/LPDDR2/LPDDR3 Controller (up to 3GB of 667MHz(DDR-1333))

QORTector Gen 3 Baremetal Raspberry Pi3 64-bit Series: 1.2 GHz Quad-Core

Brooklyn Supreme baremetal image is portage of Brooklyn Supreme 4B on various off the shelf single board computers such as Rapberry Pi 3, 3B+, OrangePi One Plus, Orange Pi Winplus and many more. The team continues to build images and solutions to facilitate Qortal and its future services such as web hosting and dynamic applications on Qortal's blockchain.
CPU: ARM Cortex-A53 Quad-Core
Additional board spec info: https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-3-model-b/

QORTector Gen 4 OrangePi H6 64-bit Series: 1.8 GHz to 2.0 GHz Quad-Core

IMAGE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME - COMING SOON!

CPU: H6 ARM Cortex-A53 Quad-Core
512KB L2-Cache (shared between four cores)
32 KB (Instruction) / 32KiB (Data) L1-Cache per Core
SIMD NEON, VFP4, JAVA Acceleration Engine
Virtualization
DDR3/DDR4/LPDDR2/LPDDR3 Controller
NAND Flash Controller and 64-bit ECC (supports full disk encryption)
3 MMC Controllers (in which MMC2 (eMMC controller) supports full disk encryption))
AR100 Co-Processor

Developer Notes:

For the DDR4 RAM chip: you can use aluminum or copper mini heatsinks

For the firmware: no need for bigger cards. Just just 1 or 2 GB micro SD card. Boot it, default password is 1234: https://redirect.armbian.com/orangepioneplus/Focal_current

Do a: "nand-stata-install" to install it on HDD directly. The SWAP is now 1GB with a microcode patch. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER FIRMWARE. Download the core, run, enjoy!

For USB hdd status indicator on board: ".edit /etc/rc.local and put this line before exit0 echo usb-host > /sys/class/leds/orangepi\:green\:status/trigger" (it says green there but its actually for RED led. The LED class driver is upside down but oh well it works like a charm.)

BE SURE TO ADD STAND OFF SCREWS - NEVER LEAVE BOARD TOUCHING ANOTHER SURFACE AS SEEN IN LAST IMAGE!

QORTector Gen 5 Enterprise A64 64-bit Series: 1.2 GHz Quad-Core (NOT DEVELOPED AT THIS TIME)
