Quick Start Guide

Please read the Qortal 101 page! A little effort is required to take part in Qortal. Studying the available information not only helps you get up to speed, but also be able to help answer other people’s questions. We need all the help we can get if we want more adoption and helping onboard newcomers will be an infinite task!

Please be sure to read the Important Notices section on the wiki!

Remember, when in doubt, did you check the wiki out? There is a search bar at the top that you can use to browse the wiki. If you have any comments or suggestions for the wiki, feel free to reach out to G Factor and we'll take your ideas into consideration!

#1: Setup a Node (go to the Node Setup Guides section or buy on pre-built at www.crowetic.com)

The following are optional:

NOTE - registering a name is no longer optional for minting, along with joining the MINTER group upon requesting to the minter admins. Also, name registration is REQUIRED for all PUBLISHING to QDN. Any public or private data, including Q-Mail messages, websites, applications, blog posts, pictures or files in Q-Chat, and more, ALL REQUIRE A NAME. You may purchase QORT utilizing the Trade Portal or the new Qortal Browser Extension, then register a name for 1.25 QORT.

The Qortal Chromium Extension allows access to Qortal without requiring a node to be run on your machine. If you would like more information about the Qortal Chromium Extension please visit https://qortal.dev

#1: Register a name by following the How To Register A Name guide (this is required if setting up a data node).

#2: Review Minting Overview if minting interests you - it’s is OPTIONAL but rewards you with QORT in exchange for helping support the network. You will then be redirected to the Becoming A Minter guide.

#3: Review the Trade Portal Overview if you'd like to trade third party coin for QORT. You will then be redirected to the How To Use The Trade Portal guide.

#4: Setup a data node: How To Host Your Public Data. You will then be redirected to the How to Setup A Gateway Node if that interests you.
